OpenHouse May 29

Hello Friends,

Come and join us at OPEN-HOUSE on next Sunday afternoon, 29th May. Meeting from 2 pm - 4 pm in the ‘Lounge’ at Emmanuel Church Centre, 43 Forest Road, and Judith and I will be your hosts, with other volunteers. Bring a friend with you - OPEN-HOUSE is especially for overseas visitors to L’boro; students, academics, employees, families or singles, children and adults; everyone for whom this is a ‘foreign’ land!

When we meet on Sunday, we shall look forward to hearing about Aaron’s Camping trip last week – I’m sure everyone had a wonderful time, with many stories to tell us!

Monday 30th is a Public Holiday. Weather permitting, would you like to join us on a Country WALK through the fields and woods? Bring a snack to eat, wear sturdy shoes and a rainproof top. Meet at our house at 9.30 am (return early afternoon); ask me for details when you come to OPEN-HOUSE on Sunday.

Also on Monday, from 12 pm until 5 pm, there will be a ‘Picnic-in-the-Park’ at Queen’s Park; stalls, dance, food and performances ~ we could join the fun after our Walk!

On Saturday, 4th June, Aaron is hosting a ‘Fish-n-Chip Night’ with a DVD at his home. Interested? Contact Aaron on ansteya@yahoo.co.uk or 01509 218579. Sounds like fun!

May you all know God’s blessing,

ZOO Story – ask if you don’t understand!!

A new employee began his job at the local Zoo and was given three tasks.

First, he was to clear the exotic fish pool of weeds. As he did this a huge fish jumped out of the water and bit him. To show the fish who was boss, he beat it to death with a spade. Realizing that his employer wouldn't be very pleased at that, he disposed of the fish by feeding it to the lions - as lions will eat anything.

Moving on to the second job - clearing out the Monkey House - he was attacked by some chimpanzees, who pelted him with coconuts. He swiped at two chimps with a spade, killing them both. He thought; what should I do? Feed them to the lions, he said to himself - because lions eat anything – so he hurled the corpses into the lion enclosure.

Then he moved on to the last job, which was to collect honey from the South American Bees. As soon as he started he was attacked by the bees. He grabbed the spade and smashed the bees to a pulp. By now he knew what to do, and shovelled them into the lion cage - because lions eat anything!

Later that day a new lion arrived at the zoo. He wandered up to the other lions and said, "What's the food like at this zoo?"

The lions replied: "It’s superb – real ‘cordon-bleu’ - today we had "Fish & Chimps with Mushy Bees”.
