26th March 2014

Hello Friends,

Congratulations to Mole and Sophia who became engaged last Sunday evening - it was a joy to be in Emmanuel Church when Mole proposed marriage, and we all were so happy when Sophia said 'Yes'; may God bless you both.

Aaron is organising a WALK in the Derbyshire Dales on Saturday, 29th March.   Bring a packed lunch, drink, strong walking-shoes, rain-jacket (and umbrella?) and your camera.   Cost is £2 and we meet at 9.00 am outside Emmanuel Church.   You have a choice of a long 8.85 kilometres route, or a short 5.5 mile walk.   He currently has four cars and all the seats are taken.   If you wish to come then contact Aaron as soon as possible at anstey50@googlemail.com, however, he still needs volunteer drivers.   See the attachment for a smile!

IMPORTANT - When you go to bed on Saturday, turn your clocks and watches FORWARD by one hour so you wake up to 'British Summer Time' on Sunday.   Don't forget!

Sunday 30th March in the U.K.is Mothering Sunday - so contact your mother and tell her you love her - can you send her some flowers?

We’ll meet next Sunday afternoon (30th March) from 2.30 pm until 4.30 pm in the ‘Lounge’ @ Emmanuel Church Centre, 43 Forest Road. Your hosts will be Aaron and Helen, with John, Linda and David ~ plus other volunteers!  OPEN-HOUSE International Friendship Café welcomes overseas visitors to Loughborough (students, academics, employees, residents - married or single, children and adults) - those for whom the U.K. is a ‘foreign’ land.

Do invite your overseas friends to join us on Sunday afternoons - we have travel books, games of skill, toys for the children, refreshments - and opportunities to make new friends, learn about different places, and practice your English.

In the UK we celebrate 'All Fools Day' on Tuesday, 1st April.   It's when we play sneaky tricks on each other during the morning - you have been warned!    On Thursday, 3rd April you are invited to the free Lunchtime Concert - Mozart & Beethoven chamber music - at Emmanuel Church (soup and roll served 12 noon), concert begins 12.45 pm.   Retiring collection to cover costs.

May you all experience God’s wonderful blessing,
