29th October 2014

Hello Friends,

Eighteen eager people joined us on a short, six mile, Country Walk last Saturday afternoon.   We discovered lady-hollies, an ice-house, a refuge from the Great Plague, fairy doorways, friendly cows, dovecotes, ten-foot tall corn - and so, so much more.   Do join the next walk; you'll enjoy it!

Especially for children ~ Friday, 31st October!   If you have children 5 - 11 years old, there will be fun and games at a 'LIGHT PARTY' in Emmanuel Church Centre - 5 pm until 6.15 pm.   Dress in bright colours; contact 0776 956 7186 or 01509 261 773 for more information.

Next Sunday is special - we're going to have our annual 'BEETLE~DRIVE' followed by freshly baked scones.   Sound good?   Please arrive on time (doors open at 2.30 pm).   It's a lovely traditional British game - lots of fun - quite noisy - but we need YOU.   So come and see what it's all about.

We'll meet next Sunday afternoon (2nd November) from 2.30 pm until 4.30 pm in the ‘Lounge’ @ Emmanuel Church Centre, 43 Forest Road;  your 'hosts' will be Tricia, Wendy and Helen ~ plus other volunteers!   OPEN-HOUSE International Friendship Café welcomes overseas visitors to Loughborough (students, academics, employees, residents - married or single, children and adults); those for whom the U.K. is a ‘foreign’ land!

Do invite your overseas friends to join us on Sunday afternoons ~ we have travel books, games of skill, toys for the children, refreshments ~ and opportunities for making new friends, learn about different places, and practice your English.

On Sunday evening you are all invited to an International Tea @ John Storer House; 5 pm to 7 pm.   It's a ‘Bring-&-Share’ meal followed by a challenging talk.   http://sfellowship.org.

May you all experience God’s wonderful blessing,
