Welcome to the OPEN-HOUSE weekly news mail. We have been enjoying some fine sunny weather during this week and it has been a pleasure to be outside in the fresh air so long as you are wearing warm clothing. Andrew took the attached photograph of Leicester Cathedral and gardens on Tuesday afternoon and as you will see the sky was deep blue with fluffy white clouds and plenty of golden sunshine to enjoy. There are many signs of the arrival of Spring, for example daffodils in flower on Epinal Way near to Loughborough College.

Next Monday, 29th February, is Leap Year Day (every fourth year) when, traditionally, single ladies are allowed to propose marriage to unattached men. Watch out boys!

There will be a walk for the OPEN-HOUSE guests and helpers on Saturday 12th March. The theme of the walk is "rocks and abbeys". We shall meet at 9.30 at Emmanuel Church and aim to return by 4pm. Please bring waterproofs and spare change for a short bus ride and a packed lunch. More details to follow in next week’s newsmail. The walk is being organised by Aaron Anstey who is one of our helpers at OPEN-HOUSE.
